The Great Wall, Jinshanling, China

No trip to China would be complete without visiting the Great Wall. While many people choose to visit it at Badaling, those well travelled find it too touristy. A better spot is Jinshanling. It is less trafficed and for the adverterous you can hike from there to Simatai for a great afternoon. The hike takes the average walker four hours. It took about two. Our taxi driver didn't think it could be done. Then again we were a duo of an Olympic (retired for one day) race walker and an avid trekker. Probably not that average tourists to the wall.
